Cortada will present Native Flags at the 6th Annual South Florida Tree Summit

Xavier Cortada will present Native Flags at the 6th Annual South Florida Tree Summit. Native Flags is a participatory eco-art project created by Xavier Cortada, FIU College of Architecture + The Arts | Office of Engaged Creativity artist-in-residence. Native Flags participants plant a native tree next to a green flag at home and ask their neighbors to do the same. On April 10th, a Native Flag green flag and sapling were be planted at every school in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Dr. Kathleen Wolf
University of Washington College of the Environment
Dr. Wolf will present  recent research results on the  economic relationship between urban forests and healthy communities, and measures the social impact of urban forests in the context of economic growth.
