90N Lecture

On July 8th, 2 pm, having just arrived from a trip to the North Pole, Miami artist Xavier Cortada will deliver a lecture on his North Pole Installations on Global Climate Change at the United States Embassy in Helsinki, Finland.

At the conclusion of the lecture, the artist will join embassy staff in planting a native tree and green flag onsite to encourage urban reforestation.

While the installations at the North Pole are about having us think globally, Cortada has developed "Native Flags," a participatory eco-art project that engages individuals across the globe to act locally.
