Downtown Arts + Science Salon (DASS) Modeled after The New York Public Library Conversation Series and TED Talks, the idea is to engage local and internationally renowned scientists and artists, surrounded by great art.
CMS is one experiment at the CERN particle physics laboratory in Geneva that recently discovered the long sought-after Higgs boson for which last year’s Nobel prize was awarded to Francois Englert and Peter Higgs. Three hundred CMS scientists will spend the week planning for the Large Hadron Collider energy-doubling upgrade and reviewing results related to dark matter, string theory, and other theoretical predictions. The CMS Conversation and Reception Event will allow the public to meet and interact with the scientists. The recpetion feature the legendary Latin Jazz legend Federico Britos, winner of multiple Grammy awards. http://www.dassmiami.com/schedules.html
