Developed by Xavier Cortada, director and artist-in-residence of FIU’s College of Architecture + The Arts’ Office of Engaged Creativity, the project commemorates Florida’s quincentenary in 2013.

About the Artist

A native of Lakeland FL and 8th generation Floridian, Allison received her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Historic Preservation and now works as the Director of the Clearwater Arts Alliance. She lives in Tampa with her husband and 3 year old twin daughters.

Artist's Statement

I am dedicated to the protection and preservation of all things Florida, my beloved home state, and am pleased at the chance to educate others through an artistic medium about the native plants of the State.
