FLOR 257 by Barbara Phelps Hart

Barbara Phelps Hart, "FLOR257: Summer Farewell", Acrylic on Canvas, 9" x 12", 2012 (CC)

About the Artist

Barbara is a resident of Orange County, Fl. Her work is regularly exhibited in a variety of venues throughout the greater Orlando area. She is noted for her impressionistic style with the use of bright colors, loose brush strokes and images of everyday scenes. However, Barbara always returns to painting the flowers which capture her imagination.

Artist's Statement

One of my passion's in life is native plants and birds of the area. Our flower gardens with native plants and hedges reflect our concern for vegetation that is environmentally appropriate for our bird and butterfly population. This project embodies my own interest in art and nature and how the one can impact the other.
