Developed by Xavier Cortada, director and artist-in-residence of FIU’s College of Architecture + The Arts’ Office of Engaged Creativity, the project commemorates Florida’s quincentenary in 2013.

About the Artist

I grew up in New England, went to school and lived in NYC for seventeen years. I enjoyed the vertical perspective.

Artist's Statement

I am in awe of nature and the One who created and gifted it to us all. We are the caretakers and we must not fail.
