Artist Statement

My work is colorful intriguing and inspired by her Native American roots. I use pen & inks, recycled materials including paint into her work. I am currently an Art teacher in Sarasota county school system. This particular piece has layer upon layer of paint, thick texture and expresses the wild side of the flower and hints at it's origin of a clamshell orchid .
