Artist's Statement

I chose this flower because of its beauty. Such a small flower, yet it has powerfully striking colors with its heavy contrast between the outer white petals and inner colorings of black and red. I have no personal connection or history with this flower; I have not seen it in person. I have only viewed through a digital eye, through millions of pixels on a screen. The pixilated image I created represents how beauty is viewed in the ever-increasing digital world.
