Developed by Xavier Cortada, director and artist-in-residence of FIU’s College of Architecture + The Arts’ Office of Engaged Creativity, the project commemorates Florida’s quincentenary in 2013.

About the Artist

Teri Brozak has been inspired to paint mostly abstractly and mostly in acrylic the flora in South Florida. She's a member of the Purple Isles Art Guild and lives and paints in Key Largo.

Artist's Statement

The rough velvetseed flower is an example of the natural beauty we find all around us in the Florida Keys.
