About the Artist

Linda was born and raised in South Florida, constantly surrounded by tropical plants, orchids her mother grew, crotons, ferns and many other colorful shrubs and trees. Having returned to Florida, l have been painting with the brights adding many layers of color to my favorite subjects, shells, fish and tropical flowers.

Artist's Statement

I grew up in South Florida, surrounded by tropical vegetation, orchids, music and a loving family. Both of my grandmothers were always sewing, quilting, gardening and encouraging us to explore the arts. Painting came to me a little late in life, but I am making up for lost time. My love of color and my natural surroundings gives me my inspiration for painting with many layers of color to achieve the brightness of my paintings. My watercolors are unique because of the details, colors, and the subjects.
