He began his film career making documentaries with his production partner, Ernest B. Schoedsack, including the seminal films Grass (1925) and Chang (1927). He is most famous for creating and producing King Kong (1933). Cooper had a long and successful career as a movie producer in Hollywood, including winning an honorary Academy Award in 1952 for his achievements in technical innovation.
