He studied at the University of Florida and later earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Recognized as an international expert in theoretical physics, he is known as one of the inventors of the electronic digital computer in 1939.

John Vincent Atanasoff, Physicist 

(1903–1995)
