Some of these were the Clara Frye Hospital in 1910, the Afro-American Civic League in 1912, and the Afro-American Monthly in 1912. Black women created a number of women’s organizations like the Mary Talbert Club, the Harriett Tubman Mother’s Club, and the Florence Nightingale Nurses Club.
