FLOR500, Garden 252 Harry Gordon Taylor, Attorney (1891–1970) Harry Taylor became mayor of Bartow in 1920, and served as a State’s Attorney in Polk County. He was appointed to the 10th Judicial Circuit in 1932, and was general counsel for the Bureau of Internal Revenue (now Internal Revenue Service) at its Miami office in 1933. He is well known for his role in the prosecution of Al Capone in the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s successful prosecution of the gangster for back taxes.

Harry Gordon Taylor, Attorney

(1891–1970)

Harry Taylor became mayor of Bartow in 1920, and served as a State’s Attorney in Polk County.
