FLOR500, Garden 55 William Allen Lundy, Civil War Veteran (1848–1957) Lundy, born in Alabama, may have been Florida’s last surviving Confederate veteran of the Civil War. He claimed to have served with the 4th Alabama Infantry from 1864 to 1865. He is said to have enlisted in March 1864, at age 16, and to have been honorably discharged in May 1865. He and his family moved to Laurel Hill in 1890, and he was granted a Confederate pension in Florida, of $600 a year. He died at age 109.

William Allen Lundy, Civil War Veteran
