FLOR500, Garden 93 Richard Keith Call, Territorial Governor (1792–1862) A native of Virginia, Richard Keith Call came to Florida in 1814 with Andrew Jackson during the War of 1812. He returned with Jackson to Pensacola in 1821 to set up the new territorial government. He relocated permanently to Florida, and served as a member of the Legislative Council and as territorial governor from 1836 to 1839 and from 1841 to 1844. Call built an estate in Tallahassee, called "The Grove," which is now owned by the State of Florida.

Richard Keith Call, Territorial Governor

(1792–1862)
