FLOR500 Garden 318 Cicero Addison Pound, Businessman (1889–1972) C. Addison Pound operated Baird Hardware Store on the Gainesville square for more than 50 years. The store opened in 1890. As a young man, Pound began working there as a clerk, working his way up to company president in 1930. The store closed in 1981. Pound also became director of the First National Bank and vice president of the Guaranty Federal Savings and Loan Association. He also invested in real estate and helped to bring a veterans’ hospital to Gainesville.

Cicero Addison Pound, Businessman 

(1889–1972)

C. Addison Pound operated Baird Hardware Store on the Gainesville square for more than 50 years. The store opened in 1890.
