FLOR500, Garden 407 Charlie Cypress, Seminole Canoe-builder (1884–1960) Charlie Cypress was one of only a few highly skilled builders of Seminole canoes who have practiced the craft since the turn of the century. As use of this mode of transport declined, he kept the tradition alive, and taught many others how to continue it. His canoes can be seen in several Florida museums today, such as the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum.
