Paul Albert Dreher, Landscaper

(1903–1993)

The "Johnny Appleseed” of West Palm Beach, Dreher came to Florida from Germany just after World War I. He transformed the city’s parks into tropical oases. He created what would become the Palm Beach Zoo and Dreher Park on 108 acres of city land.  Upon retirement, he helped John D. MacArthur landscape the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
